Reverse Engineering Libraries. This mode allows you to select a PowerBuilder target/application from the Target/Application list. When a target or an application is selected, the libraries used by the target or application are automatically displayed in the list.
You can open any.pbd or.dll that was compiled in Powerbuilder and copy the objects into a blank.pbl. PfeiferTeamSybase' wrote in message news:[email protected]. In article, [email protected] says.
Is there any tool that will reverse engineer a PBL file and print detailed reports from this. TPS I believe PowerDesigner will do this as well. Mark - Mark J. PfeiferTeamSybase Corporate Technology Partners, Inc. mpfeifer @ sprynet.com Emerging Technology Solutions www.ctpartners.com e-Map Solutions Provider. In our invoicing system, we have lost one PBL file.
We have all the libraries except for one. This one file we have in PBD form but need to bring it back to PBL to make some modifications. Can this be done?
Thanks Avi No. The best you can do is rename the PBD to a PBL and then you can see a list of objects. That's how far it will go. Terry Dykstra (TeamSybase) product enhancement requests: wrote in message news:42. Hi to all, I reverse engineer our whole ERP system developed in Powerbuilder 7. As a start of my documentation with PD. I just noticed that PD can't do reverse engineer having more than 63 libraries (.pbl).
It seems that variable captures the library list of PD is overrun or something like that although i'm not sure since i don't know the technical part of PD. My question is, is there any patches or did i miss some setup in PD to avoid this problem? My only suggestion (not being a PowerBuilder guy) is to try this with V11.1 to see if the lim. Dear All, We currently work in an well-known ERP domain with Sybase PowerBuilder 7.0 and SQL Server 200/Oracle 10g. Due to some technical issues(not related to client requirements) we need to reverse enigineer some PBD files to their initial PowerBuilder Library(s) because we've lost the source PBL's.
Can you please suggest any suitable and fruitful means to do that without the violation of intellectual patents and S/W rights conforming to BS7799 standards. All/any suggestions are welcome. Awaiting your help,ASAP,Thanks, Deepesh Basu. There are none. On 18 Dec 2006 21. Hi, I am really interested about the reverse engineer from PowerBuilder application, because I want to transform PowerBuilder code into Java code. I did the reverse engineering, so I had the class diagram and I changed the object language to JAVA, but the code didn't change (only the class definition) i.e: the 'for, if, while' structures remains like Powerbuilder structures not Java structures.
Is there not a way that I can use to obtain more changes into the code? (if not all, more than I did) Sorry, but that is the limit of what PowerDesigner can do.
It really was ne. What's available thats built into Visual Studio 2005?
Nothing I believe, except maybe for ildasm.exe. VS is really for creation of new things, not for reverse enginnering.Thanks-This posting is provided 'AS IS' with no warranties, and confers no rights. My company is in the process of migrating from A.S.E. 11.5 to A.S.E. One of the key points of this process is the diference in page size. 11.5 uses 2k data pages and we plan to use 8k data pages with 12.5.
I am aware that there is no way other than bcp to migrate the data from the older version into the new one. My question is this: Is there any migration tool to extract the structure of the original databases?
I know Sybase Central has a reverse engineering feature built into it, but it writes the comands to create the tables wright before the ones to c. I've reverse engineer an existing PowerBuilder 6.0 library to class diagram. However, the class diagram generated cannot display the events properly. I cann't see all the events in the methods/events, eg: Clicked event for a particular button. I can only see the events, eg open event for the window. Is there any option that i can set so that i'm able to see the clicked event for button?
Or is this a correct way to show it in class diagram? I'm not sure what you're referring to, but I'm guessing that in the class diagram you s. Has anyone extended DBD::Null to make a tool that after you run a mess of prepare statements against the handle, it will give you some DDL to create a schema that they will all make sense on? - I like to think that when I ramble on, I'm speaking for others who share my opinions or point of view but who aren't as expressive. Does anyone know a quick script to list the complete file structure of a drive? Thanks for the help. Not really that difficult to create. You should simply take a look at the System.IO namespace and use the classes out there to do the job. Use Directory.GetDirectories('C: ') to get all the subdirs of the C: root. With the foreach keyword in C# (or For Each in VB.NET) you can iterate over all these dirs and for each dir do exactly the same (by calling a method recursively). Your code will look like this: void GetSubDirs(string dir) foreach(string d in Dir.
Hi, I have 2 PCs running the exact same version of PD 11 (11.1.0 1625 EBF8). One of it can reverse engineer PowerBuilder 10 targets, the other one cannot (only PB 7 & 8 in the list of Object languages). I already tried to copy the Ressources Files Object Languages directory, but no result. Any idea would be welcome!:) Thx. There is a setting that determines which version of PowerBuilder it supports. Is there a utility available to create a PBL from a PBD? Thanks Jas AFAIK No. Joe Slawsky ([email protected]) www.planetdx.com Home of PB Link - The FREE PowerBuilder to Palm Interface Nope, not that i know of.
If you optimize through PB there's a.bak file created, this helped me in the past to get my pbl back. HTH John only datawindow object code can be reverse engineered with a tool written by a german programmer. Let me know if you need it. Other stuff (nvo's, windows etc.) can't be seen. Regards Thorsten Jas Sokhal s. Hi, I am trying the evaluation copy of PowerDesigner 9.5 to reverse-engineer our PowerBuilder applications and then forward-engineer it to some other language like C# or Java. I have PowerBuilder 6.0 installed on my workstation.
But when I start the process after adding my '.pbl' files nothing happens (like progress bar display) and I get no model generated. I am wondering someone can advise me what is wrong here. Is it my set up (which I couldn't find any option to set for that matter) or there is something wrong with this version of the software. I'm trying to reverse engineer a PB 8.01 app into PD 9. I go through the steps to do it, select all my PBLs, tell it to go, and it makes an empty object diagram.
What am I missing? Can it reverse engineer visual componets (standard PB objects)? I saw something in the help files that says it only does non-visuals, but in the same screen it says it will do standard visual objects. This is a eval. If this doesn't work, we won't be using PD.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Mike Wolffs [email protected] PD will reverse-engineer only nonvisual.
